Loved this book, the characters are real and I felt like I was back home. I laughed out loud at the description of driving in Halifax and the Nova Scotia obsession about the weather. The storyline I recognize well, my brother is currently doing the Ft McMoney routine.
I found the character development enthralling and they were "real". This book was a bit smoother and less choppy than "that thing that happened". But I loved them both. Will be waiting anxiously for the next one.
I've read both of Libby's published works now and have loved every word. She is a seriously talented author that deserves to be discovered. Read this book, then tell all your friends!!
Again, As Maritime as David Adams Richards. The characters, the locations, the plot are all as vivid as one could want.
Ms. Broadbent's latest work tells the story of a family's struggles when the local mill shuts down in a small Nova Scotia town. It is a captivating story with well-developed, realistic characters. I really enjoyed it.
Ms. Broadbent's third novel combines a great story with equally great writing. It is a story based in Nova Scotia but relating to just about anywhere these days; this one starts out good and keeps getting better. Indefinitely Idled is sad, funny, well-paced and hugely entertaining. Highly recommended.
